Hi Kenneth. I think that the conflict here is between what the girl wants in the picture and what the boy wants in the picture. If the animals are all the boy's idea and the girl is upset about them, then the boy can get rid of the animals and use the girl's favorite color. That would show that he cares more for the girl than for the picture.

The fact that the kids are holding hands implies that there's feelings between them and you've got to have them in some kind of conflict if the audience wants to feel good about them getting back together at the end.

The changing background is a good gimmick, but it has to say something about the characters if it's going to have meaning.
